Before we get started..

It is imperative to create a beautiful, balanced space to connect and make love.

People always ask me what they need to make a sacred space, so here are some helpful tips:

1. Colour
Think skin! So anything from white to chocolate brown are space enhancing, add a dash of colour ie pink or green for the heart chakra, red for passion, orange for communication. Add texture too with cashmere throw rugs, velvet cushions, silk etc to highten the senses.

2. Lighting
Candles or soft lighting are a must have in the boudoir, it enables you to keep eye contact and gives the skin a beautiful glow. Make sure the candles are non-toxic ie soy.

3. Music
Get your hands on a tantric cd or anything sensual, preferably without lyrics (as they can be distracting).

4. Aroma
Use soft, sensual essential oils including jasmine, ylang ylang, black pepper, rose and ginger. Keep the room clean, uncluttered and well ventilated.

5. Feng Shui
For enhanced love and romance keep the bedroom all about love and lovers, so remove photos of children or family and just have happy, loving photos or prints of yourself or couples. Remove the tv, computer and any clutter under the bed as it messes with your chi! Have everything in pairs such as two lamps, throw cushions, bedside tables, mandarin ducks (very good in feng shui). Having pictures of just women can make the room too yin and will make for either loneliness or unhappy relationships.
